Subject: Provisional Select List for the post of Assistant Professor, Information Technology, in Higher Education Department.

Whereas, Higher Education vide Department, letter No. HE/Coll/Coord/APPtt/A.P./2021 dated 05.07.2021 and No. HED-GAZ/85/2022-04 dated 13.04.2022, referred Seven (07) posts (OM: 04, RBA: 01, SC: 01, ST: 01) of Assistant Professor, Information Technology, to the J&K Public Service Commission, for selection of suitable candidates and Commission, vide Notification No. 06- PSC (DR-P) OF 2023 dated: 01.03.2023, advertised the said posts for selection; and,

Whereas, written test was conducted on 12.07.2024. The result of the written test was declared vide Notification No. PSC/Exam/S/2024/48 dated: 07.08.2024, in pursuance of Rule 42 of J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022 and Rule 31 of J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021, as amended up-to-date; and,

Whereas, Twenty seven (27) candidates were shortlisted against Notification dated 01.03.2023, 04 (four) candidates remained absent, as such interview of 23 candidates was conducted; and,

Whereas, the viva-voce of candidates was conducted on 18th and 19th of December, 2024 with the assistance of Experts from outside the UT of J&K.

Whereas, it has been endorsed in the advertisement Notification No. 06- PSC (DR-P) of 2023 dated: 01.03.2023 that NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master's programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. As per the UGC list, NET/SLET/SET examination is not conducted in the discipline of Information Technology, accordingly the scoring criteria of 100 points has been slashed to 97 points after deleting 03 points earmarked for NET/SLET/SET/JRF. As such the benchmark criteria have been refixed at 48.50 for Open Merit and 38.80 for reserved category(s) candidates.
